The Bus Station

Sometimes buses really do turn up in pairs, and sometimes they have consecutive numbers!

In Oxford South Midland days Bicester garage ran three long-distance services with Bristol VRTs, to Bedford, Coventry and Northampton. Here a 132 (Bedford) meets an X59 (Coventry) at Gloucester Green on their return to Oxford in the evening. The vehicles were rostered to visit Bedford in the morning and Coventry in the afternoon, and vice versa. 487 and 488 were regulars on these services. They were among six VRTs diverted from an Eastern Counties order and had non-standard interiors. Another of the batch, 492, can be seen on the South Midland page. click for a larger version
