Hi - I'm Steve Annells, and I
live in the village of Milton, near Abingdon, in that bit of
Oxfordshire which was North Berkshire when I was a boy. I grew up
a couple of miles down the road, in the village of Drayton. I've worked in IT since the 1980s;
I'm married to Denise. There aren't many current photographs of me, which is a mercy. In August 1998 our
son William was born, and our daughter Sarah
followed in September 2000.Sally the dog joined us in 2005 - as you can see the children haven't quite mastered how to control a wriggling dog, but then of course they do look a lot cuter than I do.

I started The Bus Station in 1997 (it seems a long time ago now) because I found it frustrating trying to find bus and transit sites through the major search engines. The Internet continues to expand and become more complex, and that brings extra challenges, so The Bus Station is always going to be a work in progress.
Thank you: Humble thanks to everyone who contributes to this site, but especially to: Michael Neal (Stavanger Bus Page), Roberto Segura (Kabek, Costa Rica), Suzy Scott, John Veerkamp, Dick Vis, Martin Grosberg, Dirk Dannenfeld (The bus enthusiasts of Marburg, Germany), Alan Gray, Shigeyuki Kaneko, Mike Lloyd, Bruce Korusek, Stephen Osman, Bob Wingrove, Carlos Wallberg, Chris Hough, Graeme Selway, Gabriel Alejandro Martinez Ramirez , Remy Dhur, and Angela Gastrow, webdesigner for Coachplan South Africa
Linkrot! We know linkrot is the scourge of the Web. How many times have you followed a link and it's been out of date? I know, it happens at The Bus Station like it happens anywhere else - after all this is now the biggest site of its kind on the Web.
I try to keep dead links to a minimum, but do the math(s) - how
long would it take you to visit 7000 websites to check they still
work? I use a link checker but it can only tell me when a page is
missing; it can't tell me when a page says WE HAVE CLOSED DOWN.
So if you find a dead link, let me know, I'll check it out.
Likewise if you're moving a site to a new url, let me know. How do I get listed on this site? You could wait for me to find your site for myself, but a more reliable method is to mail me!. There are paid advertising options as well: I will continue to
visit sites and review them, then give them a listing, but now you can customise the link with YOUR text and YOUR logo - I trust you to know
your business far better than I do. Mail me for more details or visit Advertising at The Bus Station.I'm not Y*h**! - I try to respond much sooner :-) so if you submit a url to me which fits in with the rest of the site, then I'll list it.
Visit at your own risk! - I can vouch for the code on this website - I wrote it. Once you click on an external link and visit another website, that is beyond my control, and I can accept no responsibility. I try not to list offensive sites (although one or two get a bit boisterous!) or sites which might adversely affect you or your equipment, but the Web changes from day to day and accidents can happen.
Let's be careful out there -
keep your antivirus software up to date and your wits about you.
I always try to namecheck my sources, even if I haven't managed
to e-mail them back. It's only fair to give credit. How about a reciprocal link? The Internet functions on links - please feel free to link back to The Bus Station. I don't respond well to automated link requests, I prefer the personal approach. Your link back doesn't have to be anything fancy, but if you want to take the banner off the front page then please do!
Recognition: Thanks to Warren Lee of BBC Radio Berkshire, for broadcasting an interview with your webmaster on his morning show on Friday 16 March 2001!
